As service providers plan their roll-out of higher bandwidth triple-play and video-on-demand services, they are faced with new infrastructure challenges. Among the most annoying unknowns are "Do existing cabinets have enough capacity to carry these demanding services?" and "What is the quality of the lines?"
RiT's mass DSL pre-qualification system is an automated, cost-effective solution for gathering such information. It can be deployed from either the central office or the street cabinet. The system provides an accurate picture of each copper pair in the last mile and helps the Carrier make an objective determination as to the extent of its ability to support DSL or other advanced services, prior to committing to and provisioning the service. |

Armed with detailed and accurate information, operators can confidently promise service or define the necessary network changes in order to provide such service, plan efficient work schedules, reduce truck rolls, and cost-effectively install many more DSL lines. With visibility as to the exact capability of each pair, the operator is free to offer differentially priced services. |
