Challenge
O2 were looking for an easy way to manage and monitor the physical layer and significantly reduce network errors and downtime. In terms of cable management, the objective was to reduce cabling and patching volume by at least 60%. Real-time documentation was also crucial as well as localization of errors.
The company wanted to focus on critical projects and prevent disruptions in the O2 operating environment, and RiT’s Moves, Adds & Changes (MAC) functionality for use in the Test labs was the simple answer. With PatchView, O2 succeeded not only in speeding up deployment but also in reducing the amount of time spent on planning and implementing tasks in the Test lab.

Quote
“All the infrastructure layers demand highly qualified specialists who are rather expensive to hire. Since having the PatchView solution installed, I now have a simple tool to manage the physical layer. This solution enables me to reduce problems and errors in my network by at least 50%! RiT Technologies’ personal relationship with O2 and efforts in implementing their system was second to none.
We use our test labs for testing new mobile technologies and solutions before they go live, which makes the test lab a very dynamic and mission-critical environment where basic services, like a functioning network, are absolutely essential. Downtime is simply out of the question! PatchView allows us to spot the error immediately and decrease downtime significantly”.
