Brand-Rex and RiT Score with Arsenal Football Club |

After nearly a century at Highbury Stadium, in January 2006 Arsenal Football Club moved to the Emirates Stadium, a much larger facility with 60,000 seats. The Club took advantage of the transition to deploy state-of-the-art communications services throughout the stadium, and with it, a cutting-edge managed cabling infrastructure.
The Challenge
Sports in general, and football in particular, does not usually conjure up images of cabling and network connections. However, in reality, cable network infrastructures are as much a part of today's football business as are face paint and the team’s latest apparel. Besides the Club's ongoing communications and business needs, on match days the stadium must supply robust, high-capacity hook-ups to numerous media networks, and downtime is simply not an option.
With efficient and error-free network management a top priority, Arsenal Football Club looked for an advanced infrastructure management solution that would give them full visibility into network connections – whether in training rooms, conference facilities or special function communications boxes – and maximum control of the numerous ISDN lines used by media. To enhance their ability to accommodate constant change, automated planning and provisioning were also priorities. |

The Project
After a thorough search, an advanced Brand-Rex / RiT end-to-end structured, managed infrastructure solution was selected for the Emirates Stadium as the best suited for its needs.
The solution featured Brand-Rex’s SMARTPatch Intelligent infrastructure management solution (supported by RiT’s PV4E Version 4 software platform), and was deployed and supported by Trescray. The components of the system include a Category 6 (Cat6Plus) and fibre optic intelligent structured solution from Brand-Rex, as well as a SMARTPatch infrastructure management system. In addition, the SMARTPatch system was integrated by Brand-Rex's technical support team with CA Unicenter.
Working together seamlessly, Cat6Plus and SMARTPatch streamline all cabling installation and maintenance processes and provide a complete picture of all network assets and their connectivity. These systems allow IT and network managers to significantly improve all MAC planning, implementation and maintenance processes. Simon Watts, technical consultant at Brand-Rex stated,
“The Arsenal project was very challenging due to the time constraints and complexities of the network requirements, with the SMARTPatch IIMS features adding an extra dimension for the installer. “I’m delighted to say that Trescray, a Brand-Rex-accredited installation partner, performed excellently and completed the project on time and to budget. The combination of their work on-the-scene and the technical consulting services of provided by both Brand-Rex and RiT enabled the project to be completed three months before the start of the 2006-2007 premiership football season.”

Quotes
“We are very excited to deploy our new managed cabling system, which will be invaluable to the Club,” said John Beattie, Arsenal’s Stadium Manager. “The system will enable us to re-patch ISDN lines according to media requirements on match days, and to track and control all of the lines on an ongoing basis. We believe this will result in fewer redundant lines, generating significant cost savings.”
”We are proud to work with Brand-Rex to support this prestigious new customer, and to have another strong reference regarding the significant tangible benefits that our solutions offer a broad range of Enterprises," said Mr. Doron Zinger, RiT’s President and CEO. |
