An electronics engineer with experience of harnessing the power of the sun is to help automation specialist RiT Tech to silver line the Cloud

May 05, 2022

Antonio Suárez Garcia, who honed his technical skills in solar energy before gaining a decade of data centre expertise with a leading firm, has been appointed as the global product manager of XpedITe – the Israel-based innovator’s award-winning Universal Intelligent Infrastructure Management (UIIM) solution.

The role will see Antonio apply his in-depth knowledge of customer requirements to the further refinement of RiT Tech’s hi-tech toolkit and spearhead the promotion of its cutting-edge approach to Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) to the European and US markets.

Offering a major step-change from traditional monitoring tools, XpedITe drives efficiencies and reduces cost of ownership by capturing the role of a data centre’s every asset and its inter-dependencies to afford users a real-time, 360-degree view of their operations.

The solution – which is powered by advanced algorithms – can plan installations and forecast risks, automate ongoing processes and operational workflows as well as manage the lifecycle of equipment and resource utilisation.

Its capabilities were a key attraction for Antonio, who took up his post with RiT Tech on May 1st.

“Since 2011 I have worked with, and been exposed to, the whole spectrum of DCIM solutions and XpedITe truly stands out from the crowd,” he said. “The opportunity to shine this diamond was too good to turn down and I firmly believe UIIM can help to revolutionise the data centre industry.

“From a technical perspective, it is an incredibly exciting sector to be a part of as the world is increasingly reliant on it. People may not fully grasp the concept of the Cloud but they are connected to it – whether through paying for something with their phone, accessing an app or uploading a photo.

“XpedITe can optimise the processes that make those things happen, harmonising all the components within a network to make the Cloud more efficient. In that respect, my new job has similarities with my time working in renewable energy as it delivers companies a cleaner and greener way of doing business.”

Commenting on the collaborative ethos of his new employer, the engineering expert added: “There is a real soul and spirit to RiT Tech. The company shows genuine commitment to working with its customers and its people are focused on achieving real change.”

Announcing the appointment, RiT Tech CEO Assaf Skolnik said: “We are delighted to have someone of Antonio’s experience join us. From being a solution architect to a technical director, he has an intimate knowledge of data centres and the challenges faced by operators and brings the voice of thousands of customers to XpedITe’s development team.

“He is here to ensure our product continues on its transformative trajectory and, based in Madrid, will showcase our solution to European enterprise, Edge and co-location facilities – a cloud computing market which is expected to be worth in excess of $4.1 billion by 2026 – and US operators.”
